For my final major project I chose to look at the idea of Cosmetic Surgery and the reasons behind why people feel the need to modify themselves. This led me into researching subjects such as Body Dysmorphic Disorder which is what my final images are inspired by.

My images challenge the idea of what the brain see’s when we look in the mirror rather than what we see. When looking in the mirror, the reflection looking back at us is almost an hallucination and a phantom of what our brain wants us to see which is an exaggeration of our flaws, generating this fixation towards what we do not like about ourselves.
