I regard my work work as ecologically sustainable sculptures, I collect driftwood from the river ribble estuary. The wood treated and re-worked, retaining its natural beauty, during this process I add manmade elements such as brass rods, gold leaf, ferrous metals and resins, the position of these materials isn’t random but is done to achieve a natural balance between the nature and the manmade, to reinforce the woods natural aesthetic.  I am influenced by classical periods within art history and this reference can be seen in the display of these pieces, that refer to that of baroque sculpture.
